Ingredients

  • 4 Granny Smith Apples
  • 8 oz Lavender Wilton Candy Melting Wafers
  • 3 tablespoon Paramount Crystals or coconut oil
  • ½ cup Halloween Candy Sprinkle blend

Instructions

  • Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and set aside.
  • Slice the apples in ½" to ¾" slices. Discard the end pieces. You should get 3 nice slices from each apple.
    4 Granny Smith Apples
  • Using a paper towel, pat each apple slice surface to remove excess moisture.
  • Using a sharp paring knife, make a slit at the bottom of each apple. Insert the popsicle stick into the slit on each apple. Lay out on the baking sheet on top of the parchment paper. Remove any apple seed that you can see.
  • Melt the candy melts in a microwave safe bowl in the microwave for 1 minute. Remove and stir. Repeat on 30 second intervals, stirring each time. Stop when there are just some chunks unmelted.
8 oz Lavender Wilton Candy Melting Wafers
  • Add 2 tablespoons of the Paramount crystals, or coconut oil to thin out the candy melts and make the melted candy easier to work with.
    3 tablespoon Paramount Crystals
  • Spread a spoonful of melted candy wafers on the surface of each apple slice. While still hot, sprinkle the Halloween candy sprinkle blend on each candy coating.
½ cup Halloween Candy Sprinkle blend
  • Place the tray of decorated candy apple slices in the refrigerator to set up.

Notes

  • Be sure to remove any excess moisture from the cut apple surfaces, otherwise the melted candy wafers might not stick on the apples.
  • If you want to avoid the apples from browning, brush or spray a little lemon juice on the cut surfaces of the apple slices after they have set up.
  • Any sprinkle landing on the cut apple surface will bleed, so keep the sprinkles on the melted candy only.
