Ingredients

  • 1 package Puff Pastry Dough tri folded frozen puff pastry dough, OR a tube of 8 crescent rolls
  • 8 teaspoon Jam any jam, Nutella, or chocolate chips
  • 2 tablespoon powdered sugar optional

Instructions

  • Preheat the waffle iron to a medium heat.
  • Open the puff pastry package and unfold the trifold of pastry. Pinch at any damaged seams so that you have a single sheet of puff pastry.
    1 package Puff Pastry Dough
  • Cut the pastry into quarters.
  • Cut each quarter on a diagonal, from one corner to the opposite corner to make triangles. You will get 8 triangles from a package of puff pastry. If using a package of crescent rolls, spread out and separate each triangle.
  • Spread each triangle wide base are with your favorite jam, Nutella, or a few chocolate chips. Roll up from the base to the tip, then bend the rolled up dough into a crescent shape.
    8 teaspoon Jam
  • Lay the rolled dough crescent in the hot waffle iron. Cook for 2 to 3 minutes until the croffle is golden brown. You can peek.
  • Remove from the waffle iron when golden brown and crispy. Garnish with a dusting of powdered sugar and serve while hot. Repeat with remaining croffle crescent roll ups.
    2 tablespoon powdered sugar

Notes

  • Don't over fill the croffle! Each will only need about ½ to 1 teaspoon of jam, cheese, pasta sauce, or chocolate chips.
  • When reheating, do not over heat as the puff pastry or crescent dough will toughen and harden easily with reheating.
