Ingredients

  • 1 cup long grain rice rinsed until water runs clear
  • 1⅓ cup water
  • 1 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  • Measure rice into cook pot.
PRO TIP: When measuring the dry rice for the rice cooker, keep in mind that rice more than doubles while cooking!
    1 cup long grain rice
  • Rinse with cold water until it runs clear.
PRO TIP: Rinsing rice in cold water before cooking removes starch from the milling and processing. This prevents the rice from getting all sticky when cooking.
  • Add the rice, water, and salt to the insert container. Add the rice, water, and salt to the insert container. The ratio is 1:1.33 rice to water.
PRO TIP: You will often find a line inside the interior of your rice maker container so you can easily measure the correct water and grain.
1⅓ cup water, 1 teaspoon salt
  • Close the cover on the pot and press the "Rice" function. Allow for about 26-32 minutes.
  • The rice cooker will automatically switch to "Keep Warm" mode when the cook program ends.
  • Fluff with a fork after it turns off. This will distribute the grains and let any remaining moisture be absorbed. Serve and enjoy!
PRO TIP: Refrigerate overnight first when making fried rice. This will change the non resistant starch to resistant starch, and prevent a sticky, gluey mess.

Notes

  • Use the correct amount of water for your recipes.
  • Use the correct type of rice. Some types of rice are better suited for making in a rice maker than others.
  • Rice measuring ratio is 1:1.33 rice to water, which means for every 1 cup of rice you need to add 1 ⅓ cups of water to the rice maker.
  • Don't peek or stir while steaming grains.
  • Fluff the rice with a fork before serving.
