  • vegetable oil Use an Oil Sprayer
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • buns regular or low carb
  • condiments Mayonnaise, Ketchup, Mustard
  • Toppings Lettuce, Tomato, Onion slices, Cheese slices

Instructions

  • Place the frozen turkey burgers in the air fryer basket in a single layer.
    4 turkey patties
  • Add a light mist of oil using an Oil Sprayer on each side of the frozen turkey burgers to prevent them drying out.
    vegetable oil
  • Season with salt, or your favorite seasoning salt. Try our Fry Seasoning recipe too!
    ¼ teaspoon salt
  • Air fry for 10-12 minutes at 375F, or until the turkey burgers are cooked through. The juices will run clear also when you pierce the burgers with a fork.
PRO TIP: Air fryers vary widely by size and wattage. The first time using to air fry frozen turkey burgers, check at 10 minutes before continuing air frying. The other variable is the thickness and size of the frozen turkey burgers. Trader Joe's frozen turkey burgers are 3 oz weight, and wide thinner patties. Thicker patties may require an additional 2 minutes.
  • Check internal temperature with a ThermoPro or any instant read thermometer. Internal temperature for poultry is recommended 165F.
  • Remove using tongs or a fork, as the turkey burgers are HOT!
  • Serve immediately on hamburger buns (optional), lettuce wraps, and with your favorite toppings such as cheese slices, lettuce, tomato, onion slices, and condiments (optional).

Notes

  • The nutritional information does not include buns, as you may want to use lettuce wraps, or low carb/keto buns.
  • No need to preheat your air fryer, it has minimal effect and is just a waste of electricity. Air fryers are SO small, that the convection air heats to temperature almost immediately.
  • Warm the hamburger buns and slice the toppings ahead of time so everything is ready to serve at the same time.
  • No need to defrost the frozen turkey burgers. Simply air fry frozen turkey burgers straight from the freezer.
  • Don't overcook the burgers!
  • There's enough fat in turkey burgers to not need to brush them or spray them with oil.
  • DO NOT USE NON STICK COOKING SPRAY in the interior of the air fryer basket, it degrades the coating and cooking elements.
