Crockpot Soy Honey Garlic Chicken

This simple and delicious crockpot soy garlic chicken is sure to become your go-to dish whenever you are in need of a quick, nourishing meal. All it takes is five minutes in the morning to prep the ingredients and four hours later, dinner's ready for you.

Ingredients

  • 2 lb Chicken boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 cup Soy sauce reduced sodium
  • ½ cup Honey
  • ¼ cup Hoisin sauce
  • 2 tablespoon Rice vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon Sesame oil
  • 8 cloves Garlic minced
  • 2 Green onions sliced
  • teaspoon Sesame seeds
  • ¼ teaspoon Salt or to taste, less if using regular soy sauce
  • ¼ teaspoon Black pepper

Instructions

  • Rinse the chicken, then add it to the bottom of the slow cooker.
    2 lb Chicken
  • Add the soy sauce, hoisin, rice vinegar, and toasted sesame oil to the crockpot.
    1 cup Soy sauce, ½ cup Honey, ¼ cup Hoisin sauce, 2 tablespoon Rice vinegar, 1 tablespoon Sesame oil
  • Grate the garlic and add it on top of the chicken. Stir to mix in.
    8 cloves Garlic
  • Cook in the slow cooker on HIGH for 4 hours, or LOW for 7 hours.
  • Break up the chicken with a hand held mixer, or shred with two forks, blending and mixing into the soy garlic sauce. Adjust salt and pepper to taste, and garnish with sliced green onions and sesame seeds. Serve with rice, and enjoy!
    2 Green onions, 1½ teaspoon Sesame seeds, ¼ teaspoon Salt, ¼ teaspoon Black pepper

Notes

  • For a richer flavor, use dark soy sauce.
  • Add a splash of rice wine or Mirin to the sauce.
  • Garnish with sesame seeds and green onions.
  • You can also make this recipe in the oven. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit and bake the chicken for 30-40 minutes, or until cooked through.
