Braided Raisin Challah

Challah with Raisins is the perfect way to add a touch of sweetness to your next Shabbat or holiday meal.

Raisins in challah adds a burst of sweetness to the challah, while the egg wash gives it a beautiful golden brown color.

Proof the yeast and then mix in the oil and beaten eggs.

Add the flour and salt, then knead by hand or machine for 7 - 10 minutes.

Allow to bulk rise for 2-3 hours.

Punch the challah dough down and knead in the golden raisins.

Divide dough into three equal portions and shape into 20" ropes. Pinch together at one end.

Braid into a loaf and place on a baking sheet.

Brush with egg wash and bake until golden brown.
