Dr Pepper Crockpot Ribs

Irresistible, finger-licking Dr Pepper crockpot ribs are the perfect combination of sweet and savory. Slow-cooking infuses the ribs with incredible flavor while keeping them tender and juicy.

Ingredients

Rib Rub Seasoning

  • ½ teaspoon onion powder
  • ½ teaspoon paprika
  • ½ teaspoon cumin ground

For Dr Pepper Ribs

  • 4 cloves garlic minced
  • ½ cup barbecue sauce any kind
  • 2 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoon honey
  • 12 oz Dr Pepper or any cola
  • 2 lb baby back ribs two small racks

Instructions

Blend the Rib Rub Seasoning

  • Combine the onion powder, paprika, ground cumin, and rub the ribs with the seasonings.

Prepare Dr Pepper Ribs

  • Mince the garlic and add to the barbecue sauce, soy sauce, and honey. Mix until blended then brush over the dry rub coated ribs.
    4 cloves garlic, ½ cup barbecue sauce, 2 tablespoon soy sauce, 2 tablespoon honey
  • Pour the Dr Pepper into the slow cooker. Cut the racks of ribs in half, or curl around the inside of the slow cooker in the Dr. Pepper.
    12 oz Dr Pepper, 2 lb baby back ribs
  • Cover and cook for 7-8 hours on LOW, or 4-5 hours on HIGH.
  • Remove from the slow cooker onto a platter. Allow to rest for 10 to 15 minutes before separating ribs with a sharp knife. Serve hot with your favorite sides!

Notes

Here are a few tips for making crockpot ribs with Dr Pepper:
  • For extra flavor, you can add a few drops of liquid smoke to the Dr. Pepper mixture.
  • If you don't have a slow cooker, you can cook these ribs in the oven. Preheat the oven to 300 degrees Fahrenheit and bake for 2-3 hours, or until the ribs are tender and falling off the bone.
