Ingredients

  • 2 cup strawberries washed, hulled, and quartered
  • 1 cup blueberries washed
  • 1 cup raspberries washed
  • 2 peaches sliced thin
  • 1 lemon washed and sliced thin
  • 1 bottle Sparkling Moscato or white grape juice
  • 2 cup orange juice or peach juice
  • 16 oz sparkling water
  • ½ cup mint leaves fresh, washed, removed from stem

Instructions

  • Wash and trim the fruit.
  • Slice the peach, discarding the stone. Quarter the strawberries.
  • In a large pitcher, add the strawberries, blueberries, raspberries, and slice peaches.
2 cup strawberries, 1 cup blueberries, 1 cup raspberries, 2 peaches
  • Use a long wooden spoon to ‘muddle’ the fruit to release their juices.
  • Wash and thinly slice the lemon, add lemon slices and orange juice to the pitcher of muddled berries and refrigerate for one hour.
1 lemon, 2 cup orange juice
  • Add the sparkling water and the sparkling Moscato (or sparkling juice) to the pitcher and stir to mix.
1 bottle Sparkling Moscato, 16 oz sparkling water
  • Pour the fruity sangria with some of the fruit into glasses with ice. Garnish with mint leaves and serve.
    ½ cup mint leaves

Notes

  • Use a good quality sparkling white wine. White Moscato is on the sweet side, Prosecco is on the dry side. Cava is Spanish sparkling wine, and it come in sweet and dry varieties also.
  • Sparkling grape juice is a perfect non alcoholic option.
  • Don’t over-sweeten the sangria. The natural sweetness of the berries and muddled peaches should be enough.
  • Chill the muddled fruit for at least an hour before adding the sparkling wine and sparkling water. This allows the flavors to blend.
