- 6 lb Ham bone-in, boneless, or spiral
- ½ cup Water
- 1 teaspoon dry mustard Coleman's dry mustard
- 1 sprig Thyme or ½ teaspoon dried
- ½ teaspoon Black pepper
- 6 large Carrots peeled and chunked
- 5 large Potatoes peeled and quartered
Place the unwrapped, pre-cooked ham in the bottom of a slow cooker.
6 lb Ham
Add the water, dry mustard, thyme, pepper, and carrot chunks to the slow cooker.
½ cup Water, 1 teaspoon dry mustard, 1 sprig Thyme, ½ teaspoon Black pepper, 6 large Carrots
Arrange the potatoes around the outside of the slow cooker around the ham.
5 large Potatoes
Cover the slow cooker and cook on LOW for 3-4 hours, or until the ham is heated through and the potatoes and carrots are tender.
Carefully transfer the ham to a serving platter and arrange the vegetables. Serve immediately.
- If you want to add a little extra flavor to your ham, you can score the top of the ham before placing it in the slow cooker. Then, rub the ham with your favorite spices, such as brown sugar, garlic powder, and onion powder.
- If you're using a bone-in ham, you may need to cook it for a little longer. To check if the ham is done, insert a meat thermometer into the thickest part of the ham. The ham is done when the internal temperature reaches 145 degrees Fahrenheit.
- If you don't have a slow cooker, you can cook the ham and vegetables in the oven. To do this, place the ham in a roasting pan and add the potatoes, carrots, and onion. Cover with aluminum foil (or add all ingredients to an oven roasting bag). Bake at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for 1½-2 hours, or until the ham is tender and the vegetables are cooked through.
