Halloween Chex Mix

Halloween Chex Mix is a delicious and festive snack that is perfect for parties or trick-or-treating. It is made with a variety of savory and sweet ingredients, such as pretzels, popcorn, candy corn, and chocolate chips.

Ingredients

  • 6 cups Chex Cereal any variety
  • 1 cup chocolate chips or peanut butter, white, or dark chocolate chips
  • ½ cup peanut butter almond or sunflower butter work also!
  • 2 tablespoon butter
  • cups powdered sugar
  • 1 cup Candy Corn
  • 1 cup Reeses Pieces
  • 4 oz Halloween Sprinkles

Instructions

  • Measure 6 cups of Chex cereal into a bowl.

  • In a separate microwave safe bowl, melt the chocolate chips, peanut butter, and butter by microwaving 30 seconds at a time and stirring in between.
    1 cup chocolate chips, ½ cup peanut butter, 2 tablespoon butter
  • Once mixture is melted, pour onto chex cereal and mix until the cereal is coated.
  • Pour the coated cereal into a large ziplock bag. Add the powdered sugar and seal the bag, then shake until cereal is covered in powdered sugar.
    1½ cups powdered sugar
  • Add the Candy Corn, Reese's Pieces, and the Halloween sprinkles blend. Seal the bag and mix well by shaking again.
    1 cup Candy Corn, 1 cup Reeses Pieces, 4 oz Halloween Sprinkles
  • Pour into a bowl for your party guests.

For Halloween Trick or Treat Snack Bags

  • Divide the Snack mix into the small snack size ziplock bags. Seal the top, and staple one of the Halloween Snack Mix toppers that we provide the graphic to make.
  • Keep ready to dole out to your trick or treaters.

Notes

  • To be safe, use Almond Butter or Sunflower butter if you are passing out snack bags to strangers at Halloween. While most people with peanut allergies know to ask or check, it will be disappointing to not be able to indulge. Using Almond or Sunflower butter lets children with peanut allergies enjoy this Halloween Snack mix also!
