Pumpkin Spice Chai Latte

Spice up your mornings with a warm pumpkin spice chai latte! This delicious and easy to make chai beverage is the perfect way to cozy up on chilly days, fuel you in the morning, and enjoy some seasonal flavors. Since you get to be your own barista, you can customize this latte recipe any way you like when you make it.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups milk any kind
  • 1 cup tea concentrated using 4 tea bags, or pre made
  • 2 tablespoon pumpkin puree
  • 2 tablespoon brown sugar or maple syrup
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla extract or ½ a split vanilla bean
  • ½ pumpkin pie spice or cinnamon

Instructions

  • In a medium saucepan, add the milk, pumpkin puree, sugar. Mix and heat on the stove on medium until it's hot with steam, but not boiling. Remove from heat.
    2 cups milk, 2 tablespoon pumpkin puree, 2 tablespoon brown sugar
  • Once off the heat, add the vanilla extract and pumpkin pie spice blend. Stir well.
    1 teaspoon Vanilla extract, ½ pumpkin pie spice
  • While the milk is heating, brew some strong tea using either loose chai tea or chai tea bags. You can also use a ready made chai tea concentrate like the ones that Tazo sells, and microwave it for about 2 minutes.
    1 cup tea
  • Divide the hot tea into two large mugs. Top off with the hot pumpkin spiced milk mixture.
  • Add some whip cream from either your own homemade or an aerosol can of Ready Whip. Sprinkle cinnamon or pumpkin pie spice blend on top!

Notes

  • A great shortcut is to make your concentrated tea ahead of time and keep it in the refrigerator in a Mason jar.
  • I have a FABULOUS tip! I like my pumpkin spice chai latte smooth, so I Gerber's 4 oz container of finely pureed pumpkin! I know, I know, it's actually baby food! But, it is silky smooth and blends in better into the beverage!
