Making a succulent Ninja Foodi Whole Roasted Chicken is easy when using this counter top convection oven. It's so tender and juicy, you won't want grocery store rotisserie chicken again!
Prepare the air fryer slide in basket tray with non stick cooking spray.
Remove the pieces of chicken inside the cavity and either discard or save or making chicken stock. Rinse the chicken well, and pat dry.
Brush or rub olive oil all over the chicken. Mix the spices and seasonings together in a small bowl, then generously apply rub all over the entire chicken. Reserve a teaspoon of rub for later.
For the most succulent, juicy chicken, position the seasoned whole chicken breast side down on the air fryer roasting tray.
Slide the tray into the Ninja Foodi oven and cook at 350 degrees F for 30 minutes.
Carefully pull the tray out and flip the chicken so it's now breast side up. and season with the teaspoon of rub mixture reserved earlier.
Cook chicken for another 20 to 30 minutes, or until an instant read thermometer inserted in a thigh reaches 170 degrees F.
Once the thigh meat reaches 170 degrees F, remove the chicken from the Ninja Foodi convection oven. Allow whole roasted chicken to rest before carving for 5 to 10 minutes, to let the juices redistribute.
Transfer Ninja Foodie whole chicken to a platter and carve at the table, or carve the chicken first and then platter it.
Notes
If you don't have a Ninja Foodi convection oven air fryer, you can also make this recipe in a traditional oven. Preheat the oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit and roast the chicken for 1 hour, or until the internal temperature reaches 165 degrees Fahrenheit.
If you want to add more flavor to the chicken, you can stuff it with herbs and vegetables, such as lemon slices, garlic cloves, or carrots.
