How To Make Shrimp Skewers In The Oven

Season The Shrimp

  1. Preheat the oven to 400F and if using wooden skewers, soak them in water for 15 to 20 minutes to prevent them from burning in the oven.
  2. In a large bowl, add the shrimp, olive oil, smoked paprika, garlic powder, cayenne, salt, pepper, and lime juice. Toss to mix well.

Thread On Skewers

  1. Thread the the shrimp onto the wooden or steel skewers. You can also skewer vegetables on extra skewers and cook them at the same time!
  2. Brush with any of the remaining marinade in the bowl.

Broil In The Oven

  1. Lay the skewers on the broiling rack and bake in the oven 4" to 6" below the broiler element for about 6 minutes, or until the shrimps start to turn pink.
  2. Turn the broiler on for the 2 remaining minutes to get a little charring on the edges of the shrimp.
  3. Quickly remove from the oven and transfer to a serving platter! Squeeze with lime juice before serving.
