Air Fryer Cornbread Ingredients

Made with just a few simple ingredients, this recipe is easy to make and produces a delicious cornbread that everyone will love. Our Instant Pot Ham and Beans recipe is a natural pairing also.

I've included instructions for using a store bought Jiffy cornbread mix, as well as a recipe for homemade Jiffy cornbread, sized for a 6" or 7" round air fryer pan.

Method 1: Cornbread Air Fryer Recipe With Mix

  • Jiffy cornbread mix - This small packaged mix is the perfect size for a 6" to 7" air fryer cake pan, or small springform pan.
  • Egg
  • Milk

Method 2: Homemade Jiffy Cornbread Mix

Jiffy cornbread mix tends to be a little sweeter than many other brands. If it's too sweet for you, you can reduce or omit the sugar.

  • Flour - All purpose
  • Cornmeal - Plain cornmeal like Alber's, not a mix.
  • Baking powder
  • Baking soda
  • Salt
  • Sugar
  • Egg
  • Milk
  • Vegetable oil

How to Make Air Fryer Cornbread

Whether you’re looking for a quick snack or a hearty side dish, this air fryer cornbread recipe is easy peasy. Not only do you get to enjoy warm, perfect golden-brown cornbread anytime, but it also

Combine Ingredients: Mix or Homemade

  1. Whether you're making the store bought Jiffy mix, or making the Homemade Jiffy mix, add the dry ingredients to a medium size mixing bowl.
  2. Whisk to break up any lumps, or if making from scratch, to combine all dry ingredients.
  3. Add the egg and milk for the box mix, if making from scratch, add the egg, milk, and oil. Mix lightly until combined. Batter will be a little lumpy, but that is fine.

Pour Batter Into Small Round Pan

  1. Spray a 6" to 7" round air fryer pan, or small springform pan with non stick cooking spray.
  2. Pour batter into the pan, and place in the air fryer for 16 to 22 minutes at 320 F. You don't even need to preheat the air fryer!

Check For Doneness

  1. At 16 minutes, peek to check for browning and doneness. Use a toothpick to stick in the middle. If it comes out clean, remove from the air fryer and cool.
  2. If the toothpick is not clean, continue to cook in the air fryer for another 3 to 5 minutes.

Slice And Serve

  1. Remove from the air fryer and cool for 5 minutes before removing from the pan. Melt some butter over the top of the cornbread, then slice into pieces and serve!

Ingredients

Method 1: Jiffy Mix

  • 1 cornbread mix Jiffy, Martha White 8 oz size
  • 1 Egg
  • ⅓ cup Milk

Method 2: Homemade Jiffy Cornbread Mix

  • ¾ cup Flour All purpose
  • ¾ cup Cornmeal Plain cornmeal, not a mix
  • 1 teaspoon Baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon Baking soda
  • ½ teaspoon Salt
  • 3 tablespoon Sugar
  • 1 small Egg
  • ⅔ cup Milk
  • 2 tablespoon Vegetable oil
