How To Make Orange Sherbet Punch
Get your favorite orange soda, enough to fill your punch bowl for the party to make this sherbet punch recipe. Then, get some orange sherbet. Chill the soda ahead of time.
PRO TIP: Prepare the sherbet by scooping it up in balls ahead of time and freezing it as cold as you can. You won't be using ice cubes, so the sherbet should be frozen as cold as you can get it.
Fill The Punch Bowl with Orange Soda
- Fill the punch bowl about ½ way full with the chilled Orange soda. Use a clear punch or large salad bowl for the best presentation. I used a full 2 liter bottle of orange soda in this tutorial.
Add Frozen Orange Sherbet Balls
- Remove the tray or platter of frozen sherbet balls that you prepped earlier.
- Carefully add the sherbet balls directly into the cold orange soda in the punch bowl. Be careful not to drop them into the soda, transfer with tongs or slide them gently off a spoon close to the soda surface so they don't splash.
Don't Stir The Punch!
- Finish adding all the frozen orange sherbet balls to the orange soda filled punch bowl. They will start stacking on top of each other.
- Add the ping pong eyeballs to your punch bowl last, and don't stir them in. Just let them rest on top of the sherbet and sherbet foam. They will gradually settle into the foam.
Your sherbet punch takes less than 5 minutes to put together, so it is literally the last thing to do when your guests start arriving!
Serving Suggestions
Add a ladle and let your guest serve up their own punch. Use mugs or paper cups, which ever is in keeping with your party. If you are looking for a Halloween punch for kids, this is it! All the kids will want an eyeball as a souvenir!

A few other Floating Sherbet Punch variations are:
- Rainbow Sherbet Punch - Use Sprite or 7-Up soda. Add frozen balls of Rainbow Sherbet to the punch bowl of soda. As the sherbet melts, it will have an almost 'Unicorn' swirl of color in the bowl, perfect for a girls Unicorn themed party.
- Lime Sherbet Punch - Just substitute the orange ingredients for lime.
- You can also use Orange Creamsicle ice cream and orange slice soda, or juice in this easy punch recipe.
Equipment
We used a beautiful Acrylic salad bowl that doubles as a medium sized bunch bowl. It holds two large bottles of soda (2 liters each).

- Only mix enough soda and sherbet scoops to use immediately during your party, as once the sherbet melts into the soda, it doesn't keep.
- This is a one night party punch. You can make up more if you run out, but you will need to discard any leftovers.
Tips For Success
