    Ingredients

Gather up your favorite candies to decorate this white chocolate candy bark. You can use oil based chocolate food colorants to tint the melting wafers, or purchase individually colored candy wafers. It's SO much easier to buy the wafers tinted though.

ingredients for making green halloween candy bark.
    • Vibrant Green Candy Melting Wafers
    • Orange Candy Melting Wafers
    • Snowy White Candy Melting Wafers
    • Milk Chocolate Candy Melting Wafers
    • A box of Ike & Mike fruit candies
    • A box of Malted Milk balls
    • A small bag of M&M candies
    • Candy Corn
    • Googly Eyes gummy eyeballs, much less expensive than Trolli Glotzers
    • Halloween cookie sprinkle mix
    • Paramount crystals, cocoa butter wafers, or coconut oil to help melt the wafers.
    • A silicone Worm candy mold.

Full ingredient amounts and preparation instructions are in the printable recipe card at the bottom of this post.

    How to Make Boo Bark

Prepare a large rimmed cookie sheet with parchment paper. DO NOT use wax paper! Set the cookie sheet in a workspace near your microwave.

You will make this unique Halloween candy bark in steps. The first step will be to make the chocolate candy worms and let them set up while you make the rest of this Boo Bark.

Step 1. Mold the Chocolate Candy Worms

Microwaves vary so much by temperature and power. To prevent the chocolate candy wafer from 'seizing' while melting, add about 1 tablespoon of either Paramount Crystals, cocoa butter wafers, or even coconut oil. Add it in the start of the melt and it will temper the chocolate when you stir it in.

melted chocolate added to a worm mold.

Use a small microwave bowl and gently melt the milk chocolate wafers in an initial 30 second interval, then in 15 second intervals until you can easily stir it.

Once the milk chocolate has melted, pour in on one side of the silicone worm mold. Press the melted chocolate into the mold forms and set it in the refrigerator to firm up.

Full ingredient amounts and preparation instructions are in the printable recipe card at the bottom of this post.

Step 2. Melt the Remaining Candy Wafers

You will use 3 times the amount of Vibrant Green candy wafers than the white or orange colored wafers. Start with 16 oz Vibrant Green and 4 to 6 oz each of the Orange and White Candy Wafers. Use a separate bowl for each to melt them.

Use the same technique of adding some Paramount Crystals, cocoa butter wafers, or coconut oil when you first start melting.

Melt in the microwave on a 30 second first interval, then in subsequent 15 second intervals, stirring after each heat interval.

As soon as each color is easy to stir, pour it on the parchment paper covered rimmed cookie sheet. Pour each bowl of melted white chocolate candy melts in scattered piles.

Melt the green, orange, and white candy melts, until fluid enough to pour out onto the parchment covered cookie sheet.

Pour the candy melts in scattered areas all over the parchment paper.

Step 3. Blend the Candy Melts and Decorate

Carefully unmold your chocolate worms from the silicone mold. The best way to do it is to scrape away the excess with a sharp knife. Then, bend the silicone mold in between each worm. Most will pop right out, a few will break, but it will not matter.

After placing all the other candies on the soft Boo Bark, position the milk chocolate candy worms on the candy bark.

Using the back of a spoon, or a spatula, spread the piles of melted candy wafers all over the parchment covered cookie sheet.

    Substitutions

You can use any bright candies making this Halloween candy bark. Think of gummy worms, Swedish Fish, Gum Drops, etc.

    Equipment

You will want a rimmed cookie sheet and parchment paper for making this. Other supplies or equipment I used are as follows:

    • Googly Eyes gummy candies
    • Vibrant Green Candy Wafers
    • Orange Candy Wafers
    • White Candy Wafers
    • Halloween cookie sprinkles blend
    • Silicone Worm Mold
    • Milk Chocolate Candy Wafers
    • Paramount Crystals for melting, or Cocoa Butter, or Coconut oil

    Storage

Let this candy bark set up completely before breaking into chunks. Store leftover chunks in plastic bags in cool, dry location.

    Tips for Success

    • Heat the candy melting wafers using the Defrost setting on your microwave to have more control of the heat. It helps avoid any seizing better also.

    Frequently Asked Questions

Can I freeze this candy bark?

Freezing is fine, but you want to let it defrost in your refrigerator to limit the condensation on the candy decorations. Condensation can make the candies get sticky or bleed color. Storing in ziplock bags in a cool or chill location is the best storage.

    Food Safety

    • Wash hands after touching raw meat
