How To Make A Tropical Fruit Salad
Choose fresh, ripe fruits that are easily available. If you're making a smaller sized salad, consider buying the fresh pineapple chunks in the produce department.
You can also buy frozen mango chunks and let them defrost. Both options will make the fruit cutting process painless.
Peel And Cut The Fruit Up Into Chunks
- Peel the kiwi and slice. Slice the mango sides off the seed core, and chunk, or use frozen mango chunks.
- Cut the peel off the pineapple and chunk it up, or buy it pre cut. Quarter the strawberries.
Make The Honey Orange Salad Dressing
- Squeeze the orange and save the juice. Or use reconstituted orange juice from a carton.
- Mix the honey and the orange juice together and then add to the chopped fruit.
Mix And Toss The Fruit
- Toss the salad and distribute in the dressing ingredients.

Yes! Lime is a perfect substitute, but you can also use pineapple juice or apple juice too. Choose a light colored juice though. Grape or Cranberry juice would discolor the lighter colored fruits.

Tropical Fruit Salad
Ingredients
- ½ fresh pineapple cut in 1" pieces - about 3 cups
- 1 mango cut into cubes - about 1 cup
- 6-8 strawberries quartered - about 1 cup
- 4 kiwi's peeled and sliced - about 1 cup
- ½ cup orange juice squeezed from one orange
- ¼ cup honey
Instructions
For the Fruit
- Cut the peel of the pineapple and core it. Slice into chunks. Wash, stem, and quarter the strawberries.
- Peel the kiwi and slice them. Slice the mango fruit off each side and chop the fruit, or use frozen mango chunks that are defrosted.
- Add all the fruit to a large mixing bowl.ยฝ fresh pineapple, 1 mango, 6-8 strawberries, 4 kiwi's
- Mix the orange juice and honey together in a small bowl. Pour on the fruit in the bowl and toss.ยฝ cup orange juice, ยผ cup honey
- Chill salad for 30 minutes, then toss once more before serving.
