Banana Pudding Ice Cream Ingredients
You can use whipped cream cheese or the Philadelphia Cheesecake mixture sold in tubs. The only difference is that the ready-to-use cheesecake mixture is sweetened. If using the pre-made cheesecake, don't add the sugar to it!
I used the Pepperidge Farms Chessman cookies, but Nabisco Vanilla Wafers, or any vanilla sugar cookie works fantastic!
- Sweetened Condensed Milk - Any brand, or make your own with our Sweetened Condensed Milk recipe.
- Vanilla extract - Any brand.
- Heavy cream
- Brown sugar - Light or dark.
- Cinnamon - ground.
- Nutmeg - Fresh ground or from a spice jar. Fresh is amazing!
- Salt - Just a pinch.
- Bananas - Use medium ripe, fresh bananas. Save over ripe bananas for our Maui Banana Nut Bread or our Bread Machine Banana Nut Bread recipes.
- Sugar cookies - Chessman, Vanilla Wafers, Sugar Wafers, Sugar cookies, any will be fine.

How to Make Banana Pudding Ice Cream
This is a no churn banana pudding ice cream recipe that has cream cheese or cheese cake mixture added. It's egg free, and you don't have to cook a custard on the stove top first!
The sweetened condensed milk and the cream cheese gives this banana pudding cheesecake ice cream it's silky smooth, velvety texture!
Whip The Cream
- Add the heavy cream, brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt in a large mixing bowl with hand or stand mixer for 5 minutes.
- In a separate bowl, whisk the sweetened condensed milk and vanilla together.
PRO TIP: If you decide to use an electronic ice cream maker, do not whip the heavy cream. The churning process will aerate the whipped cream.
Fold In Whipped Cream & Condensed Milk
In this step you will gently fold in the sweetened condensed milk into the whipped cream, until there are no streaks of condensed milk showing. Use care so you don't deflate the cream too much.
You won't be folding in the cream cheese or no bake cheesecake mixture, as it is too thick to fold into the fluffy ice cream mixture. You'll reserve the sweetened cream cheese or cheesecake mixture for layering dollops in the ice cream right before freezing.
- Fold the whipped cream and sweetened condensed milk together
- Gently fold until the two mixtures are evenly combined.
Layer In A Loaf Pan
- Line a loaf pan with aluminum foil or parchment paper.
- If using whipped cream cheese instead of ready-to-use cheesecake mixture, mix in the sugar to the whipped cream cheese.
- Line a loaf pan with aluminum foil or parchment paper. This let's you lift the ice cream out easier later.
- Pour in some of the ice cream mixture and add dollops of the cheesecake and cookie chunks.
- Make two or three layers from the ice cream mixture and top each with the cheesecake, sliced bananas, and cookies.
- For the top layer, only add cookie crumbles (exposed banana slices will discolor brown).
PRO TIP: If using and electronic ice cream maker like the Cuisinart, layer the banana slices, cheesecake mixture, and cookie chunks into a loaf pan or ice cream hardening container. Don't add the mix in's to the Cuisinart.
PRO TIP: Set your freezer to 0℉ the night before.
- Cover with plastic wrap and place in the freezer for 6 to 8 hours until frozen.
- Remove from freezer and scoop into bowls or ice cream cones.
