Creamy or crunchy peanut butter, that is the only question you have to deice on the ingredients! Either will be delicious for the peanut butter brownie layer.
When mixing both the peanut butter brownie layer and the chocolate brownie layer, mix in the flour just until it is mixed and now dry flour streaks show. This way you won't over mix and have cakey brownies.

- Lightly fold in the flour, just until mixed. Don't over mix! Spread the Peanut Butter brownie batter in the pan, spreading it out evenly.
Top With The Brownie Batter

Equipment
Equipment can have a big impact on how a recipe turns out. Below are some of my favorite pieces of equipment that I use when making this dish.
Storage
Store chocolate peanut butter brownies in an air tight plastic storage container at room temperature to keep fresh. You can refrigerate them or freeze them also.
Tips for Success
- The easiest way to bake these brownies fit the baking pan with parchment paper with a generous overhang. This way, once you remove the pan of brownies and let them cool, you can lift them out with the paper overhang. No more digging out brownies, and every one of them will be perfectly cut.
Frequently Asked Questions
Fudgy brownies have more fat than cakey brownies. Cakey brownies have more flour also. The amount of sugar and eggs does not change whether you're making fudgy or cakey though.
Only for cakey brownies, you remove from the oven when the toothpick comes out clean. BUT, for fudgy brownies, you bake them for time specified, remove and let finish cooking as they cool. This is what gives them the fudgy texture.
Food Safety
- Do not use the same utensils on cooked food, that previously touched raw meat
- Wash hands after touching raw meat
- Don't leave food sitting out at room temperature for extended periods
- Never leave cooking food unattended
- Use oils with high smoking point to avoid harmful compounds
