Frequently Asked Questions
Yes, you can make this recipe with a Cuisinart Ice Cream mixer that churns. Just pour the mixture in, the churning will whip up the cream to greater volume.
The ice cream is ready when it's firm enough to scoop. You can also test it by freezing a small amount of the ice cream and seeing if it's hard enough to hold its shape. If using a Cuisinart Ice Cream Maker, it's done when it has the texture of soft serve ice cream. You then transfer to a storage container and let it 'harden' in the freezer for 2 hours.
You can use any type of food coloring, but blue is the traditional color for Cookie Monster Ice Cream. If you don't have any food coloring, you can leave it out, but the ice cream won't be as vibrant.
