    Ingredients

    This unique recipe combines the signature taste of classic tarter sauce with wholesome, low carb ingredients that even non Keto dieters can enjoy. Plus, it’s easy to make, allowing any time-pressed home cook to whip up a batch in no time!

    • Mayonnaise - sugar free mayonnaise (Duke's, or JFG are both completely sugar free!)
    • Dill Pickle - not sweet, dill pickles have no sugar added. Chop the dill pickle up small.
    • Lemon - fresh, zest and juice.
    • Dill Weed - fresh. and chopped fine.
    • Parsley - fresh, and chopped small.
    • Salt - to taste.
    • Pepper - to taste.

    How to Make Keto Tartar Sauce

    This Keto Tartar sauce is best prepared the day before so flavors than mingle.

    Prepare All the Ingredients

    1. Place the mayonnaise, lemon juice, and lemon zest in a medium size mixing bowl.
    2. Chop the dill pickle and mince the dill weed and parsley, and add to the bowl with the mayonnaise.

    Mix The Ingredients

    1. Mix well, then season to taste with the salt and pepper. Add the optional Swerve sweetener, mix, and then store in a jar in the refrigerator.

    Serving Suggestions

    Tartar sauce is traditionally served with seafood dishes like crab cakes and fish and chips. You will love it on our Air Fryer Salmon Bites, or our Baked Branzino, or Longhorns Salmon.

    Substitutions

    You can use pickle juice from the Dill pickle jar if lemon juice is not available.

    Variations

    Once you know how to make this Keto Tartar sauce you can try some other tartar sauce variations!

    • Cajun Tartar Sauce - Add ½ teaspoon of creole or cajun seasoning, with ¼ teaspoon of smoked paprika.
    • Spicy Tartar Sauce - Add ½ teaspoon of cayenne pepper, and 2 teaspoons Texas Pete sauce to the mixture.
    • Tartar Sauce without Dill Pickle - Omit the dill pickles and replace with either chopped sweet Gherkins, or no pickles at all.

    Storage

    After mixing the Keto Tartar sauce or any of the variations listed, store in a small Ball canning jar or other container that seals well. Store in the refrigerator for up to 3 weeks.

    Tips for Success

    • Use a mini food processor to chop up the dill pickle, it is much easier.

    Tartar sauce is a staple condiment at many seafood restaurants because it's mostly used for fried fish and fried oysters. But it can also be used as a dipping sauce for sandwiches and roasted veggies or as a salad dressing.

    • Wash hands after touching raw meat
    • Don't leave food sitting out at room temperature for extended periods
    • Never leave cooking food unattended

    • 1 cup mayonnaise sugar free
    • ¾ cup dill pickle finely chopped
    • 1 tablespoon dill weed fresh chopped
    • 1 tablespoon parsley fresh chopped
