Slow Cooker Chicken and Gravy Ingredients

There's nothing quite like a warm, comforting bowl of chicken and gravy over mashed potatoes on a cold winter day. With just 10 minutes of prep time you'll have a delicious homemade meal in your slow cooker that you can forget until dinner time.

  • Chicken breasts - Get the boneless, skinless.
  • Cream of chicken soup - Or, any condensed cream soup.
  • Ranch Seasoning Mix - Store bought, or our Dry Ranch Dressing Mix recipe.
  • Chicken broth - Or water.
  • Bay leaf - Optional, but gives additional flavor.
  • Salt - To taste.
  • Black pepper - To taste.
  • Mashed Potatoes - Store bought or homemade with our Bob Evan's Mashed Potatoes recipe.
  • Herbs de Provence seasoning - Optional, great with chicken.

How to Make Slow Cooker Chicken and Gravy

This classic dish is easy to make in your slow cooker, so you can spend less time in the kitchen and more time enjoying your family.

Below I'll walk you through the steps to make this easy chicken and gravy recipe.

Prepare Chicken In The Slow Cooker

  1. Start by placing the chicken breasts in the bottom of your slow cooker.

  2. Sprinkle the top of the chicken with the dry ranch seasoning mix.

Add The Gravy Ingredients

  1. Empty the can of cream of chicken soup and either the chicken broth of the water to the slow cooker.

  2. Cover, and set the slow cooker to LOW for 4 - 6 hours, OR on HIGH for 2 - 3 hours.

Shred The Chicken

  1. Once the chicken is cooked through and is fork tender, use a hand mixer or two forks and shred the chicken apart into medium sized chunks.

Mix and Serve

  • 1 packet Ranch Seasoning Mix any brand
  • 1 can Cream of chicken soup any 10.5 oz condensed cream soup
