Love seafood but finding it hard to think of something easy yet tasty and different? Then you need to try this delicious Cajun Salmon Alfredo! It's packed with flavor, yet simple enough for a weeknight dinner. Let's get cooking!

Season the Salmon

  1. Fill a Dutch oven pot ⅔ full of water and bring to a boil. Boil the pasta according to the package instructions. Drain with a colander and turn out into a bowl. Toss with a tablespoon of olive oil so pasta does not stick together.

Substitutions & Variations

Feel free to substitute any other firm fish, such as Sea Bass, Mahi Mahi, or Sable Fish. You can leave the pasta out, and spoon the Cajun Salmon Alfredo on rice or even potatoes.

Equipment

Equipment can have a big impact on how a recipe turns out. Below are some of my favorite pieces of equipment that I use when making this dish.

  • Colander
  • Nuwave Air Fryer, 6 quart

Storage

Cover and store any leftover Cajun pasta with salmon in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.

Tips for Success

  • If you have an air fryer, you can cook the salmon while the pasta is boiling on the stove top.

Frequently Asked Questions

Should you wash raw salmon?

The USDA cautions: “do not rinse raw fish, seafood, meat, and poultry. Bacteria in these raw juices can splash and spread to other foods and surfaces. Cooking foods thoroughly will kill harmful bacteria.”

How do you know when salmon is done?

The easiest way to see if your salmon has finished cooking is to gently press down on the top of the fillet with a fork or your finger. If the flesh of the salmon flakes - meaning, it separates easily along the white lines that run across the fillet - it's finished cooking.

Food Safety

  • Do not use the same utensils on cooked food, that previously touched raw meat.
  • Wash hands after touching raw meat.
  • Don't leave food sitting out at room temperature for extended periods.
  • Never leave cooking food unattended.
  • Use oils with high smoking point to avoid harmful compounds.
  • Always have good ventilation when using a gas stove.

See more guidelines at USDA.gov.
