Substitutions

We used more expensive boneless pork chops, but you can buy a less expensive combo pack of pork chops that are bone in. Follow the same instructions.

Variations

A few variations are using Soy Sauce or Worcester Sauce during the grilling step. Just sprinkle a little of either on the meat and flip to brown on your skillet. You can also grill these on an outdoor grill and brush them with your favorite barbecue sauce.

Equipment

  • Cast Iron Skillet

Cast Iron fires up really hot, enough to give a good brown sear to pan grilled steaks, chicken or chops. The heat and browning is more even also.

Tips For Success

  • Be sure to get your skillet really hot, then add the oil, wait a few minutes, and add the raw meat. This technique will give you the best browning and pan grilling.
  • Season your pork chops and set in the refrigerator to let the seasonings mingle for at least 30 minutes before cooking.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can these be cooked on an outdoor grill?

Yes, they can. Heat can very in intensity, so watch them so they don't overcook.
