- In a large bowl, combine the flour and cocoa powder together. Either sift the cocoa to break up lumps, or use the back of a spoon to break the lumps up.

- In a large bowl, cream together butter and sugars until light and fluffy. Beat in eggs one at a time, then stir in vanilla extract.
- Add dry ingredients to wet ingredients and mix until just combined.
